Rotary on The Radio

Rotary on the Radio is presented every Friday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm by Anthony Beevor, Lesley Robinson and Ian King. The show is sponsored by Meridian Rotary here in East Grinstead.

On the first Friday of the month, Lesley and Ian talk to Steve Pond, our local astronomer, about the skies above East Grinstead. And on the fourth Friday, Anthony introduces the Ace Theatre plays written and directed by Stephen Fallowell.

As well as playing popular music both current and from yesteryear, we have news about Rotary activities both locally and nationally and chats with local charities, community leaders and businesses.

If you would like to feature on Rotary on the Radio email info@meridianrotary.co.uk  or contact us via our Facebook page.

Meridian Rotary in East Grinstead is a volunteer organisation where members use their skills and their time to improve the lives of others while enjoying friendship and having great fun in the process.

There are nearly 1,800 Rotary clubs across Great Britain and Ireland and 38,000 members. Rotary is open to anyone aged 18 and upwards. All that is required is a positive attitude and a sense of adventure.

Rotary International was founded in 1905 in Chicago and is now the world’s largest international service organisation with 1.3 million professional men and women as members. There are 33,000 clubs in 200 countries and geographical areas.

Every year Meridian Rotary holds fund-raising events to support people in need in our community and overseas. Recent recipients of our charitable donations include the East Grinstead Food Bank, St Catherine’s Hospice, local PTA and Scout groups and charities providing shelter and meals to survivors of the Turkey/Syria earthquake.

We have also contributed to Rotary aid for Ukraine, and are collecting and refurbishing mobile phones and bicycles, for Ukrainian refugees in our community.
