Competition Rules

These are the terms and conditions which apply to any competition, prize draw or promotion which we or our business partners may run, whether on our or their websites, social media, on-air or otherwise.

In addition to these general terms and conditions, other specific rules may also apply to a competition. In the event of a conflict between the two sets of rules, the competition-specific rules take priority.

Entering a competition

By entering a competition you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions along with any other specific rules which relate to a competition.

Competitions are open to individuals who are UK residents and aged 16 or over unless a different geographic region or a different minimum age is specified.

Our employees, volunteers, sponsors, licensees, contractors, associated companies, prize providers, anyone else professionally involved with the competition, and their immediate family members or households (whether related or not), are excluded from entering and from winning.

Candidates partaking in any form of local or national Election are excluded from entering during the Election or Referendum Period (as defined in the Ofcom Broadcasting Code).

Each competition will start as soon as it is first promoted, unless a later start date and/or time is specified. The closing date for a competition will be specified in the promotional material. If a time is not given, the closing time will be 23:59 on the stated date. All times are based on UK time.

Entries received outside of the opening and closing times of the competition will not be accepted but may still be charged (where there is a cost to enter).

Unless specified otherwise, entries are limited to one per household (or primary residence). Entries are acceptable from family members at different addresses.

Your entry into a competition and participation in a prize is at your own risk. We will not be liable for any damage, loss or disappointment suffered by any person taking part in or not being able to take part in a competition.

Prizes

Each prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and, with the exception of cash prizes, no cash alternative is available. If you are not eligible to take part in a competition, your entry cannot be transferred to anyone else.

In the event of an advertised prize being unavailable, we reserve the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.

We accept no responsibility for inaccurate prize details supplied by any of our business partners.

Prizes consisting of a holiday are subject to availability and must be taken in accordance with all requirements specified by us, such as dates, destinations and number of passengers. Unless stated in the specific rules, you will be responsible for all ancillary expenses in relation to the prize which aren’t expressly included. You will be responsible for any inoculation and other health or visa requirements for your holiday destination. You must hold a valid passport, which will not expire within 6 months after the last day of the holiday, without any visa restrictions. If you are refused passage and or entry/exit to or from the country being visited, we will not be held responsible for that or for any costs, expenses or losses incurred by you or your travel companion(s). Where no insurance is expressly offered, or you do not consider the insurance to be adequate for your needs, you are responsible for obtaining adequate travel insurance.

Where the prize on offer is a motor vehicle, entrants must possess a valid and full driving licence for that class of vehicle. Unless otherwise specified, road tax and motor insurance remains the responsibility of the prize winner.

Selection of winners

In the case of a prize draw, the first correct entry drawn will be the winner.

The judge’s decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

We accept no responsibility for entries that we do not receive or that are delayed. Proof of making a phone call, sending a text message, posting an entry or sending an email is not proof of our receipt of your entry.

Claiming and receiving a prize

If you fail to claim a prize within the time-limit or fail to comply with any other instructions or provide us with incorrect or fraudulent information, you will forfeit your right to the prize. When entering a competition or claiming a prize you must use your real name. We reserve the right to request proof of ID, age and address.

Where a competition requires the presence of an entrant, failure to appear will result in the forfeit of any prize. In some cases, with prior agreement, a substitute can attend.

Wherever possible, prizes will be sent out within 28 days. If a delay is incurred, the winner will be kept fully informed.

Publicity

Competition winners may be required to take part in or co-operate with publicity.

Personal information

Your personal data, and the personal data of any additional guest(s), will be collected and processed by us, as well as the prize providers, in order to administer the prize giving, to verify that these rules have been complied with and for accounting purposes. We may pass your details on to our service providers and agents for the purposes of sending you a prize on our behalf. We may also use entrants’ personal data for publicity purposes where consent has been given.

Other rules

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.

These terms and conditions are governed by English law.
