Tracey Franklin

My first experience in radio began over 30 years ago at Hospital Radio Tunbridge Wells.  I presented request shows and spent five years on the Committee, two of which were served as Chairman from 1990-1992.  On leaving school, I started working at the BBC in London, first as a Radio Production Assistant in Current Affairs at the BBC World Service and then as a Studio Manager based at Broadcasting House working on news and current affairs programmes.  In my spare time I used to enjoy helping at BBC Radio Kent and at one point, I was doing all three of the above at the same time!

My life took a different path away from radio but after a 21 year gap, I have re-discovered it and I am happy to be joining the team at Meridian FM.  Technology has changed immensely during my radio break; I’ve learnt to edit audio digitally which is quite different to my previous experience editing with a razor blade and splicing tape!

I work part-time for the NHS and I live in Surrey.  I am married with a son and a daughter.
