Samantha Day

How I came to 107 Meridian FM was purely by accident.  They say when one door closes another one opens and that certainly was the case.

I love a challenge and radio for me has been just that.  I have never been involved or even interested in doing anything like it before.  I am really enjoying my time presenting on Meridian with such a lovely group of people. I am very much a people person and my passion is interviewing whether it be a local charity or the likes of Steve McFadden or the Drifters.

As a qualified Personal Trainer and Sports Massage Therapist, health and fitness is very important to me.  I have been lucky enough to run 8 marathons including the 5 Major marathons all around the world, always fund raising for charities.  I do need to point out here, only as a fun runner.  If I can do it so can you!!!  I therefore have a ‘Get Fit & Be Healthy’ show twice a month on a Wednesday morning as well as co-presenting with Terry James on Wednesday breakfast and Thursday lunch time shows.  The aim of the health show is to inspire people to get active at any level, open their minds to other forms of exercise other than the gym, to make them aware of what is available to them and for a healthy lifestyle to become the norm.  If you have a topic that you would like to know more about, then please let me know.

I also run the Competitions for the station and we are getting some amazing prizes so keep listening and checking the web site.

I am always on the lookout for interviewees.  If you feel you have something interesting or unusual to offer, or know someone who does, please contact me.

I hope to meet you one day.  You can always call me in the studio or if you are at one of our outside events, please come and say ‘Hello’.
