Rock
Rob usually presents the Tuesday night slot from 9 until 11 pm
on Meridian FM. His Jingles and Voice-overs are the work of Genevieve
Lacey, although produced by himself. The music you will hear on
his show is classic rock from the 70’s through to today. Some
of the best music you will find anywhere on the radio.
My
favourite music has got to be the bands from the 70's, Led Zeppelin,
Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, ELP and many more. Maybe
I still live in the 70's? I have for many years now dabbled with
the guitar although I have not for the last couple of years due
to lack of time, having started a band in 1973 in which I played
Bass, we were gonna be huge... what happened? Maybe it was the
alchohol, or were we just rubbish.
I originally come from Epsom (in fact Jimmy Page lived 5 doors
away), I moved to East Grinstead in 1984 and seemed to have settled
down to a quiet life with my partner (Genevieve) and our two dogs,
and cat. Whatever happened to the Rock n Roll lifestyle I was
always going to live ! I am also a huge fan of football supporting
Torquay United, so not much to shout about there, but I used to
have a season ticket at Old Trafford so I do still get some highs
out of the game.
In
my radio show I try to play the best of the early Rock years,
some well known, others not, although as long as it is good, I'll
play it. I may even play some Madonna, David Essex or Kate Bush,
you never know. I also enjoy recording jingles at home on my computer
which I will often use on the show.
Although
I spent 25 years working in the Technical side of computers I
now drive a Taxi around East Grinstead.
