Press Release
December
6th 2007 - RADIO STATION CALLS FOR SUPPORT (East
Grinstead Courier)
With
East Grinstead's Meridian FM radio station once again broadcasting
to the town, uncertainty still surrounds its future.
The people behind the station have been trying to apply for a
permanent licence, but cannot do so at present.
Lee
Quinn, who presents a morning show as well as running the station,
said he was still unsure what will happen once the current temporary
licence expires on December 22.
"We
are still waiting, and waiting, and waiting to find out when we
might be asked to apply for a licence and we are hoping it might
be in May," he said. "We are looking at the internet as a way
to do it. It would be great to do more."
Mr
Quinn said the station was committed to covering as much of local
life as possible, and had a range of different shows on air.
He
added that anybody wanting to help the station in its bid for
a permanent licence can write to East Court, College Lane, East
Grinstead, West Sussex, RH19 3LT.
"We
need people to write in and support us," Mr Quinn said.
