Neil Symon

Neil is the only founder member left at Meridian FM, he is one of the three who came up with the idea of a community radio station for the people in the local area, many years ago.

Neil cut his teeth at Mid Downs Hospital Radio at the Princess Royal in Haywards Heath, and has been heard at numerous other stations, including Southern Sound, Radio Mercury, Capital FM and Uckfield FM. Along with many years as a club and mobile D.J.

Neil presents his landmark programme “Funky Weekend” every Friday evening, playing classic Funk, Soul, Disco, Jazz Funk and Rare Groove plus a smattering of his kind of humour. Defiantly not as serious as it sounds, Neil kick starts your weekend and puts the Fun back into Funk.

Neil is also known as the “Guvnor” by the other “Lazy Sundae” presenters. Neil came up with the idea and format; he also presents “Lazy Sundae” every first Sunday of the month. The show is made for those who grew up through the 60’s and 70’s or for someone looking for something different. Lazy Sundae is broadcast every Sunday from 12 noon until 2.00pm with the help of Chris Michaels, Paul Winkley and James Stenning. Why not check out their profiles while you’re here.

And once you’ve done that make sure you tune in to 107 Meridian fm, especially Fridays at 8pm and Sundays at 12.
