Meridian FM Transmission Project

Meridian FM was offered a full-time community radio licence by Ofcom in July 2009.
The volunteer station already owns studio equipment but currently lacks the means to transmit, as we don't own a transmitter. For our five short term FM licences between 2006 and 2008, we hired equipment.
We now need to fund and purchase a transmission system, pictured above. The top 'box' is a 50 watt FM transmitter. In the centre is an audio processor and on the bottom is the RDS unit. In addition to the equipment, there will be a cost for installation and commissioning, plus some new aerial cable.
The complete system, with a mounting box and aerial cable will cost £3,554.
To date, we have received a £1,000 grant from the North Mid-Sussex County Local Committee, together with a private donation of £500 and £185 raised at the second Meridian FM picnic. The Lingfield Marathon committee awarded us £350 and the Battle of the Bands raised a grand total of £742. Other donations means that the transmitter fund total today stands at £2,973.
If you would like to make a personal or business sponsorship donation towards the equipment, please contact Nigel Peacock at the studio on 01342 325 825.
Without this funding, Meridian FM will not be able to start our full-time service in early 2010. You are invited to help.
