This first grant to the station from the CLC will be put towards the purchase of an FM transmitter and associated hardware, allowing Meridian FM can take to the air in 2010.
In total, the transmission system is budgeted at £3,554, leaving over £2,500 still to find before the station can start permanant broadcasting.
The transmitter will last the station a minimum of five years and will be located at the Meridian FM studios at East Court, East Grinstead.
Several times a year, the CLC award funds to local groups, with money tonight also being awarded to Copthorne Village Hall, the Association for Mental Health, among others.
