Let it snow!
The Schools emptied and the slopes around East Court filled with children of all ages on snowboards and sledges.
Winter decended on Sussex overnight with up to five inches snow welcoming the morning commuter and school runs.
The roads in East Grinstead were passable with care, but drivers in side roads exercised caution and stayed at home. Outside the town, conditions were more difficult, with parts of the A264 in Holtye and Hammerwood in a poor state.
Many schools were closed, with email and text messages being sent overnight, stopping students from attending their final day of term before the Christmas break.
At East Court, the slopes were busy with children taking out sledges for the first time this winter and a few kitchen trays were also spotted.
There was an active snowball fight in progress behind the Mansion at around noon, with perhaps 50 teenagers taking sides and pelting each other with snowballs.
The afternoon sun didn't dampen spirits and with more snow predicted for the weekend, the Meridian FM area could be looking at a white Christmas a week from today.
