Local Rotary Club Promises to Give Thanks for Life

Today is Rotary International Day and the Rotary Club of East Grinstead Meridian are focusing on their 'Thanks for Life - End Polio Now' campaign.
Rotary International have been working with the World Health Organisation, UNICEF and governments the world over to immunise children against the disease - and it could be completely wiped from the planet in our lifetime. The campaign also has significant financial support of The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The Rotary Club of East Grinstead Meridian, along with Rotarians worldwide, have pledged to raise funds and awareness of the campaign.
Local schoolchildren have been invited to enter a poster and painting competition based on the subject of 'End Polio Now'.
This coming Saturday 27th February, local Rotarians will be holding fund raising collections at Homebase in East Grinstead and at the Lingfield Park racecourse.
But the main event is an exciting Auction of Promises to be held on Friday 5th March at the Meridian Hall, East Court. The evening includes a meal, entertainment, a raffle and some fabulous promises - including the use of a Porche for the weekend!
Meridian FM's Sharon Terry caught up with Rotarian Ken Jackson to find more:
Duration: 3'45''
Tickets have been selling fast for the auction and cost only £12.50. They can be obtained from Ken who will do his best to include you if there is a cancellation.
A list of the Promises can be found on the Rotary Club of East Grinstead Meridian. (Meridian FM are not responsible for the content of external sites).
If you wish to make a bid for any of the goods listed then contact Ken on: 01342 323249 or email him at kenvio@jackson366.fsnet.co.uk
Any potential bidder will need to give their name and address plus telephone number and what promise they wish to bid for, etc.
Ken will then contact the bidder to verify details.
