Local Guides celebrate the launch of Centenary Celebrations by Nigel Peacock
An early morning start for Rainbows, Brownies and Guides from Worth Division Guiding, saw over 200 girls assemble at 8 a.m. at Rofant House to kick off the celebrations.
Girls of all ages piled out of parents cars, joining their leaders under a grey but dry sky. Just after 8 a.m., everyone went inside Rowfant House to see the Girlguiding UK's 100th centenary celebration DVD. This was followed by long service presentations to several leaders, some of whom have completed 30 years of service. Gemma Farley, a Guider from 2nd Crawley Down guides received her Queens Guide Award to much applause.
After the official launch, the girls went outside to try bouncy castles, sack races and a treasure hunt, before a short break for breakfast.
At 10 a.m. a walk to Tulley's Farm to explore the Maize Maze completed the morning and weary girls and leaders left for home.
