Felbridge Army Cadets put best foot forward

The Army Cadet Force is one of the country's leading voluntary youth organisations

It's not part of the Army, as many think, but it is partly funded by the Ministry of Defence and this helps to keep the joining fee and activity costs very low.

There are a staggering 40,000 cadets nationally, with 700 of them based in Surrey.

Members of the Army Cadet Force wear uniform and hold military ranks. Cadets learn a variety of subjects including; Drill and Turnout, Skill at Arms, Military Knowledge, First Aid, Physical Achievement, Shooting, Fieldcraft, and Map and Compass.

Annual trips include a week in Sharm-el-shake, Egypt, parachuting in Germany with the 'Tigers' free-fall Display Team. There's also a chance during Annual Camp to ride in Chinook, Sea King, Lynx and Gazelle helicopters.
