Bluebell invites residents to see progress
Next weekend, 10th-11th October, a little bit of local history will be created when the Bluebell Railway holds it's Open Day at East Grinstead Station.
Members of the public and nearby residents are invited to see for themselves the development of Bluebell Railway's Northern Extension Project.
After many decades, the desire to build a platform at East Grinstead and lay track to nearby Kingscote Station has fast become reality for Bluebell's dedicated supporters and staff.
A highlight of the weekend is that visitors will be allowed to walk along the viaduct - a familiar town landmark since it's completion in 1882.
Tim Baker the Commercial Director of Bluebell Railway spoke with MeridianFM's Sharon Terry about the forthcoming Open Day.
He began by explaining the reasons for Bluebell wanting to consult with local residents:

Guides will be on hand to answer any general or engineeing questions.
Photos of the project work will also be on display, together with the opportunity to donate to the completion of the work.
