First Meridian FM Picnic
by Nigel Peacock
In August 2009, Meridian FM held our first music picnic at East Court.
For two hours on a sunny afternoon over 150 visitors enjoyed live music from local musicians and bands. The free show was broadcast live on Meridian FM via our 24 hour internet connection.
Musicians included Bonx Trigwell and the Buffaloes with the show compared by Pru Oliver and Terry Sumner.
Technically, the music picnic was a challenge to the team who hadn't run such an event before. Meridian FM member Neil Munday loaned his personal outside studio equipment, setting it up and running the technical side for the afternoon.
Meridian FM hope to run another event soon, with plans for a short summer series of music picnics in 2010.
