About Us

Meridian FM
In July 2009, Meridian FM was offered a full-time community radio licence to cover East Grinstead and the surrounding areas on FM.

The Area
Meridian FM is based in East Grinstead and transmits on 107 FM. We broadcast from our studios at the Jubilee Comunity Centre on Charlwoods Road. The coverage extends around 5km and includes Forest Row and Lingfield.

Our Programmes
Meridian FM is on air now on 107 FM with live programmes from 7am on Monday 1st March 2010. There will be specialist music shows, plus live artists playing in the studio.

The People

The station is made up over over 40 local volunteers under the guidance of a management team. More volunteers are needed now we are a full-time radio station.

Community Radio
Meridian FM join around 200 other community radio stations across the United Kingdom. Community radio is not commercial and is run as a not for profit organisation on behalf of the community.

How is it supported?
Community Radio is able to run on-air advertising for local business, but this income cannot exceed 50% of the running costs of the station. The remaining money needs to come from grants and donations.
