Sue Hull

It is with deep sadness that we have to announce that one of our original volunteers, Mrs. Sue Hull has sadly died. She was an active member of the Meridian team serving on the Board of Directors from day one of the Station's launch.

She presented her own programme but was more active behind the scenes especially arranging for and approving Studio interviews to ensure all arrangements were complete and conducted correctly.

Well known locally, Sue & her husband Michael ran a business in Forest Row for a number of years, but Sue was always interested in working on Radio. In the mid 1980's, she joined Radio Queen Vic at our local hospital during which time she attended a BBC course in Guildford. Very popular with patients, her musical tastes & knowledge proved invaluable. Sue was also an active supporter and worker for The East Grinstead & District Access Group, assisting disabled people in the local area.

When Meridian was launched in November, 2006, Sue was one of the founder members for which she received an honorary membership two years ago.

The family have asked if anyone wishes to, they could donate to Access through Meridian FM, rather than sending flowers.

Sue will be sadly missed and Meridian FM extends our sincere sympathies to her husband and children.

Saturday 11th May was the Weir Wood Sailing Club Open Day. We were there to observe a great day had by all, and we welcomed an interview with David Wensley in to the studio with Pete Jenkins.

56th Sunshine Sevens

Meridian FM spent another great day at the 56th Sunshine Sevens tournament in East Grinstead.

Very well done to Esher Golden Lions for winning the plate 28 to 14 against East Grinstead's very own G Force.

Overall Winners of the Tournament were Irish Exiles, who played a superb game against Kamikaze.

Housemates the Sitcom speaking to James Stenning

On the 25th April, Guy Wah and Stuart Hall came into the studio to chat about their new Brighton Fringe show Housemates - The sitcom.

It'll be on at the Hanover Community Center at 20:15 on Friday 17th May, Friday 24th May and Friday 31st May.
