107 Meridian FM welcomes the Olympic Torch Relay
The Olympic Torch Relay is passing through East Grinstead on Tuesday 17th July, and 107 Meridian FM will be providing full live on-air coverage of this amazing, once-in-a-lifetime event. Our special Torch Relay programme starts at 8.00am on Tuesday 17th and will report the progress of the torch along the whole route.
Meridian FM reporters will be in position early at key points along the route in Copthorne, Felbridge and East Grinstead, and will keep you fully updated about all the road closures, the build-up of crowds, and about the whole torch convoy as it passes.
We will also be interviewing torch runners and talking to the crowds watching. So stay tuned to 107 Meridian FM all morning from 8.00am on Tuesday 17th July, and be a part of East Grinstead’s history in the making!
What you need to know
The Torch route runs a distance through Copthorne, and then starts its journey through Felbridge and East Grinstead at the Copthorne Road in Felbridge.
It then runs onto the A22, goes right up the whole length of the London Road, right through the centre of East Grinstead via the High Street, and then out again down College Lane and up along the Holtye Road, where it ends its journey at the edge of town.
If you’re going to watch anywhere along the route, why not take a pocket FM radio tuned to 107FM, or set your smart phone to listen to our web site “listen live” stream, and even follow our up-to-the-minute Twitter Tweets, so you can stay fully informed about the Torch’s progress, from right where you’re standing.
