Andy TaitLike many, when I first heard about Meridian FM, I got excited about the prospect of being able to share my love of music to anybody who would listen.
Having lived in the area most my adult life, I grew up with a strong sense of community from my English/Polish upbringing.
The passion of music runs through the family, with a leaning towards soul and jazz. I started a music collection at a young age and soon after leaving school began pestering bars, clubs and pubs for opportunities to deejay, having been bitten by the bug during a holiday abroad.
I've been extremely lucky to have played many local venues before eventually settling down at Harley’s Bar (Crows Nest). It was there that I was discovered and asked to do the warm-up slot downstairs at The Base Nightclub. This culminated with a long standing residency at the club which ended in 2001.
Since those hedonistic times I've been involved with countless events and projects along the way. Some successful and some not so. However, my continued involvement with Meridian FM is the most rewarding. I've met some amazing people along the way who continue to inspire me.
